Agenda
Nature Talks 1-2pm
John Sumich - From the ridges to the sea; the legacy of the Waitākere Forest & Bird Branch. John will share some of the amazing work achieved by the Waitākere Forest & Bird Branch, including how dedicated volunteers worked to realise their dream of protecting what is now Ark in the Park.
Sam Lincoln - Standing on the shoulders of giants; Ark in the Park today. Following John's talk about the origin of the Ark, Sam will talk about where we are today, what the future may look like, and how you can join or support the team to ensure the legacy continues.
Hear from Lara Clarke from Auckland Council about work underway to develop Shoreline Adaptation Plans, which will shape how council-owned places by the shore will be managed in the face of climate change, coastal hazards and flooding, over the next 100 years. Help shape a legacy for the future of the coastline you love by having your say. Tell us what you value about your local coast, as part of the consultation for a plan being developed for Whatipū to South Head.
