What the hell is an "Australian Story"? – Story Week 2023
Event description
WHAT THE HELL IS AN “AUSTRALIAN STORY”?
Story Week: Be Heard – Be Seen
2023 Story Week Ambassador, Nazeem Hussain chats with Word Travels Director, Miles Merrill. Comedians, lyricists, poets and other performing writers face the public with their own ideas. Actors perform someone else’s scripts. Authors are headshots on back covers. But most stories are told through multimedia or onstage. Is this our real literary canon? How do we inspire more Australians to share their stories? How do diverse voices burst through the white media wall?
CONVERSATIONALIST: Miles Merrill
PERFORMING WRITER: Nazeem Hussain
