This circle will be a space for tending grief together — for personal losses and for the wider sorrows of our world. It is not a therapy group, and there is no pressure to share or perform. Witnessing is full participation, and all forms of presence are welcome.

Upon entering Seward park, follow the Seward Park Road to the upper loop. Follow the road until you reach Picnic Shelter #5.

The closest bathroom is roughly a 5-minute walk or short drive away from the picnic area. We will have a break for use scheduled into our time together.

Parking: There is parking along the road near Picnic Shelters #2, #4, and #5.

What to expect:

A gentle invitation before we gather In the days ahead, you might simply notice what you are carrying — what grief, heaviness, or loss has been present for you. There is nothing to fix or resolve. Just a gentle turning toward.

We will have a community grief altar set up, please feel welcome to bring one or two objects to place on the altar — items that hold personal or collective meaning, connect you to loss or to hope, or simply feel significant.

As part of our gathering, we will work with foraged natural materials and provided art supplies, to create a visual landscape of your grief (collage), whether literal or abstract, to creatively express and witness your experience of loss. You are welcome to bring photographs, live or dried plant clippings, or other personal items you'd like to incorporate. No artistic experience necessary. All are welcome.

This gathering will take place rain or shine. Please come dressed and shod appropriately for the outdoors. Our gathering space includes a slight incline, and there will be an option to walk on uneven forested paths.
