Come and join us at the Centre for Local Government’s inaugural panel discussion and 2024 program launch.
In this first event in a new series, attendees will hear from an exciting line up of local government leaders as they share their perspectives on the challenges and opportunities facing local government in the 21st century.
Led by Professor Carol Mills, Director IPPG and Adjunct Associate Professor Vanessa Chan, this much welcome in-person event will be a unique opportunity to meet and network with other leaders and practitioners in local government and to hear about our comprehensive 2024 program of education and events designed specifically to support local government.

Monica Barone
CEO, City of Sydney
Monica has been the Chief Executive Officer of the City of Sydney since 2006. She has overseen the development and implementation of the City's long-term vision for Central Sydney - Sustainable Sydney 2030-2050.
Mark Greenhill OAM
Mayor, Blue Mountains
Mayor Mark Greenhill served as Deputy Mayor from 2010-2013 and was first elected as a Councillor in 1999 and has been Mayor since 2013, making him the longest serving Mayor of the City of the Blue Mountains.
Scott Phillips
CEO, Northern Beaches
Currently serving as the CEO of Northern Beaches Council, Scott has three decades of experience in local and state government. He was the former Chief Executive of NSW councils’ peak body, Local Government NSW and has also served as General Manager of Hornsby and Sutherland Shire Councils.
Tanya Taylor
Mayor, Willoughby
Mayor Tanya Taylor was popularly elected to Willoughby City Council in December 2021, and is the third female Mayor in the Council’s 157 year history. She is committed to working with the community as Willoughby continues to flourish and evolve.
