Join us in Merredin for the annual Wheatbelt Trails Forum, which brings together local government representatives, community groups, and trail enthusiasts to share insights, network, and celebrate the vibrant trails and outdoor recreation scene in the Wheatbelt.

Agenda: 

Rory Murray - Town Teams and Cycling Event Founder - Rory will provide insights on his experience using gravel cycling events to promote and showcase regional areas and how he engages the local government and communities to create sustainable events that provide economic benefits and return to the community. 

Rail Trails Australia -learn more about Rail Trails Australia and how the WA team can help advocate for new rail trails and improvements, promote existing rail trails and their use and support and connect stakeholders in current and potential rail trails.  

Katie Stevens - Trails WA - Trails WA’s Marketing Manager will share how local governments can make the most of WA’s leading trails platform. Learn how to get your trails listed on trailswa.com.au, what makes a compelling and effective listing, and how to work with Trails WA to promote your region’s trail offerings. The session will also highlight upcoming improvements to the platform and new opportunities for collaboration and visibility.

Christine Campbell - Operations Officer - DBCA - Christine will outline the importance robust trail planning and explore 

Mick Hayden - Njaki Njaki Aboriginal Cultural Tours
- Join Njaki Njaki Traditional Owner and Aboriginal tour guide Mick and undertake a cultural walking tour of Merredin Peak and the surrounding reserve. Learn about the rich Aboriginal history via a walk along the trail up the rock and be rewarded with delightful views of the town and reserve land to the East. 

This is a FREE event but RSVP is essential by 4.30pm Tuesday 3 June 2025. 

Morning tea and lunch provided - please advise of any dietary requirements.
