About your tutor
Larissa is a ceramic artist working across multiple community led studios. Larissa’s practice is shaped by these spaces, collaborating through shared firing, glaze recipes, ideas and treats. She fires predominantly in gas and wood kilns and references architecture and objects from memories, bringing them into the present.
About the Gisborne Pottery Group
Our class will be held at Lysnar House/ Gisborne Pottery Group. There are 8 wheels meaning our class sizes are nice and small (7 people). There is a small kitchen with microwave, jug and a bathroom + ramp access via the kitchen.

Complete beginners will start with basic bowl and mug forms. In Weeks 2 and 3 you are welcome to bring objects or photos that you'd like to recreate and I can guide you. Anyone with wheel experience can tap in and out of demos as desired.
- What happens if I can't make a class?
Send me an email (larissamilsum@gmail.com) and we can talk about waitlisting for another course. Each week is a vital part of the making and finishing process so I recommend attending every session. If you are sick, we can figure out a way to finish pieces.
