FAQs

• What ages can participate?

  This is an event for children aged 8-17 years old! There are two separate groups being run;

  • Junior Filmmakers: kids aged 8 to 12 years old

  • Senior Filmmakers: teens aged 13 to 17 years old.

• What times does the workshop run?

  The workshops run from Monday 28th of September through Friday 2nd of October 2026. The two age groups will be held at seperate times, as according to below.

  Junior Filmmakers:

  Monday: 1pm-4pm

  Tuesday-Friday: 9am-12pm

  Senior Filmmakers:

  Monday: 5pm-8pm

  Tuesday-Friday: 1pm-4pm

• Is the workshop disability/neurodivergence friendly?

  Yes! We aim to provide a safe learning environment for all children.

  Our host of the workshop (Carter) is disabled and understands the importance of having the correct accommodations in place. Prior to the event, a sensory guide and social story will be sent out in order to help all families prepare for the big week!

  Please feel free to contact us if you require any specific accomodations (such as easy access and parking, accessible bathrooms, quiet sensory space, etc)

• What will my child learn?

  The workshop is a structured week aimed at teaching and involving the kids in the creative and technical process of making a short film.

  They will;

  • Assist and write their own short film screenplay.

  • Draw storyboards to assist in filming.

  • Use professional filming equipment (under supervision) such as cameras, lights, microphones, and more.

  • Use basic editing software to edit all footage together.

• Does my child need to attend all 5 days?

  No! You are more than welcome to buy one day tickets to each day, making it easy to customise the event to your child's interests.
