Wheelie Wellness Hobart
Description
This Wheelie Wellness session brings together people with physical disability and spinal cord injury and their support networks for an informative and welcoming half-day event. Three speakers will share practical knowledge and lived insights across health, wellbeing, and assistive technology — followed by a light lunch and the opportunity to connect with peers.
11:00 am | Welcome and acknowledgement of Country Registration and welcome table. Light refreshments available on arrival. |
11:10 am | Gordon Broome — lived experience (25 min) 20-minute presentation followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. Personal story, practical insights, and the importance of community connection. |
11:35 am | Phil Ladlow – Physiotherapist – Advanced Rehabilitation Tasmania (25 min) 20-minute presentation followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. Physiotherapy for people with physical disability — benefits, access, and how to get started. |
12:00 pm | Assistive Tech — power-assist and other adaptive options (25 min) 20-minute presentation followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. Talk to technicians about the range of tech available to enhance daily life. |
12:25 pm | Light lunch and peer connection (35 min) Informal networking with speakers and peers. Resource table available. Thank-you and close at 1:00 pm. |

- Is the venue accessible?
Yes, St Lukes Wellness Hub in Hobart is wheelchair accessible with the event space located on the ground floor of 72 Elizabeth Street which includes automatic doors.
- Where can I park?
Accessible parking is available via the Argyle St Carpark which is less than 300m from the venue location. There are also two accessible parking spots on Criterion St available for the duration of the event less than 120m from the venue entrance.
