WHEN HEARTS COLLIDE!!!!

How would you like to spend a day with toy collectors from around the world, in a quaint European Village reminiscent of one of the most beloved toys of all time?

Sometimes, in our darkest moments, a great light is born. During the pandemic, a group of collectors found hope and community in an unlikely place — their mutual love of the Vintage Polly Pocket® Toyline! Slowly, with her small plastic hands, Polly® began to knit friendships that spanned the globe, and warmed the hearts of many.

And now that little girl is turning 35, and her friends have decided to celebrate her! So hop in a hot air balloon! Grab a jet ski! Or ride your Palomino Pony to Solvang, CA, USA on July 24, 2024 for a once in a lifetime chance to celebrate life, friendship, and fun!


Details:

You will begin your day exploring the world renowned village of Solvang, CA, filled with beautiful shops, delectable treats, and wondrous sites! 

At 1:30pm, come on over to the Ballroom at the Craft House, only a few blocks from town, and check in to the event!

You’ll hear from Guest Speakers like Barbara Evans, creator of onlypollypocket.com, and Maude Campbell, author of the upcoming book “The Legacy of Polly Pocket®”. There will be several other surprises, and a VERY special guest, but you’re going to have to attend to find out who!

At 5pm, we’ll begin a lovely catered dinner, with games and prizes in abundance. At 7:30pm, guests are required to leave the venue, but the party isn’t over yet! You’ve only got one hour to put on your best Disco Party dancing attire, and return to the Ballroom at 8:30pm! There you will dance the night away with friends and fine desserts, where you will participate in the world's first ever Polly Pocket® Costume Contest!

Barbara Evans

It’s finally time to meet the creator behind onlypollypocket.com, Barbara Evans!! If you haven’t been able to get to know the wonderful Barbara, now is your chance!! We will get to hear for the first time ever parts of her story in the collecting world and how she got to this point of helping thousands, if not millions of Vintage Polly Pocket Collectors, Resellers and of course Enthusiasts. At the end of Barbara’s interview, we will open up the Q&A so she can answer those questions you have been dying to know!!

Maude Campbell

Next up, we’re going to hop on over to hear the voice behind the upcoming book “The Legacy of Polly Pocket”, Maude Campbell. We will get to have the first ever inside scoop into the mind of a Polly Pocket Journalist. In her quest to uncover the truths behind the history of the toy line, we’ll get to find out some of the incredible stories she discovered while pursuing Polly Pocket’s Legacy. At the end of Maude’s interview, we will open up the Q&A as well, so you can possibly find out some more Polly Pocket Truths!!

* In Person Tickets: You will be required to bring a form of ID to enter the event. Please make sure the name(s) on the tickets match your form of ID. If child, parents must be in attendance. All attendees will be bag checked before entering to ensure the safety of the guests. No outside food or drinks will be allowed at the event. All food, snacks and water, along with beverages will be available to all attendees, bar excluded. Each In Person Ticket includes one complimentary drink from the bar. 

** Online Ticket purchases will give you access to an all exclusive in-depth viewing of When Hearts Collide. Also every Online Ticket purchase will include 1 entry towards 5 random winners for a Special Prize. (Only available to ONLINE TICKET purchasers.) Drawing will be held Live on YouTube after the event. For liability reasons, video viewing of When Hearts Collide will be available within 1 month after the event has passed. Video will be available for 24 hrs after initial viewing.


Why Solvang, CA, and What’s the Weather Like?

The Polly Pocket® Toyline began in the United Kingdom, and was later licensed by Mattel®, headquartered in Los Angeles, CA.

Solvang honors both of these entities, as it is a European town only hours from Mattel, and LAX International Airport. If you love the Vintage Polly Pocket® Toyline, you will love Solvang, CA!

Solvang can be warm during the summer, so dress for heat while you explore the town. The event, however, will be entirely inside an air-conditioned space, so no worries there! It’s going to be an 8 hour event with a lot of sitting until the dance party, so dress to impress!
