When Your Message Meets Resistance: Present to Tough Audiences with Confidence and Credibility

Communicating information that others may resist is an inevitable part of leadership. Whether you're announcing organisational change, presenting an unpopular decision, challenging established thinking or acknowledging a mistake, how you deliver your message matters as much as the message itself.

By the end of this masterclass, participants will be able to:

Recognise what may be driving resistance, from genuine concerns and competing priorities to mistrust or perceived threats
Anticipate difficult questions and objections, and prepare responses that strengthen credibility
Maintain composure and authority when challenged, interrupted or put on the spot
Respond to resistance in ways that keep dialogue constructive and move the conversation towards a productive outcome

This masterclass is ideal for:

Leaders presenting recommendations, difficult decisions or organisational changes
Managers seeking buy-in from sceptical colleagues, teams or senior stakeholders
HR professionals communicating sensitive, challenging or unpopular messages
Professionals who need to influence decisions, defend recommendations or respond confidently to challenging audiences

You'll walk away with:

A practical preparation checklist for anticipating audience concerns
A simple response structure for answering challenging questions
Language for clarifying objections, acknowledging concerns and handling interruptions
Techniques for slowing down and regaining your footing when caught off guard
Ways to stay connected with the whole room when one person dominates
