Where Olive Trees Weep
Event description
Tāmaki Loves Palestine & Palestinian Youth Aotearoa are holding a screening of Where Olive Trees Weep at the Academy Cinema (next to the Auckland City Library).
Where Olive Trees Weep offers a searing window into the struggles and resilience of the Palestinian people under Israeli occupation. It gives background to the current crisis and follows, among others, Palestinian journalist and therapist Ashira Darwish, Palestinian grassroots activist Ahed Tamimi, Israeli journalist Amira Hass and Canadian physician and Holocaust survivor Dr. Gabor Maté.
These universally human stories speak of intergenerational pain, trauma and resilience.
Proceeds will go to the Sunbird Solidarity Project which has a focus on raising financial aid for families of Kiwi-Palestinians who are trapped in Gaza.
