Whimsy Studio for Tweens/Teens (~10-14yrs) Term 4

Whimsy Studio is a creative space for tweens and teens to experiment, make and express themselves.

Each session explores different materials, techniques and ideas — from printmaking and collage, hand stitching, modelling, bead works and more. Students can join in on planned activities each week, or work on ideas of their own.

Designed for ages ~10-14, this workshop is all about:

• Creative freedom and self-expression

• Experimenting with materials and techniques

• Making work that feels personal and unique

• Connecting with others

There’s no pressure to get it “right” - just space to try new things, take creative risks and see where ideas lead. Students are encouraged to follow their own direction, with guidance and support along the way.

Perfect for creative kids, curious makers, and those who want to try something different.

Details:

• Age: ~10-14 years

• Duration: 1.5hours

• What to bring: Clothes that can get messy (or a shirt for over uniforms). We have aprons but not all kids like to wear them!

• What’s included: Materials for planned activity, + access to the weird and wonderful treasure wall to create their own projects instead. Including fabrics, modelling clays, beads, vinyls, wooden materials, paints and more.

• Accessible and welcoming space: Genuinely welcoming space for all and always happy to try different ways to support people feeling comfortable in the space, where needed. We also have a wheel-chair accessible, gender-neutral loo if required!

• Location: Whimsy Disco, 490 Macaulay Road, Kensington Vic

• Transport: Short walk from Kensington Primary and Holy Rosary. ~15min Walk from MAC, Flemington Primary or St Als. 2 min walk from Kensington train station.
