We look forward to welcoming you to Whisk(e)y on The Rocks this Thursday – Sunday!

There is so much to discover, explore and experience in both the Ticketed Zones and on The Whisky Trail, you will struggle to fit it all into one day and night and that’s a good problem to have! So take a moment to check out the map, the tips and plan out your whisky adventure.

Arriving to The Festival, Session & Weather Planning:

Once you arrive at The Rocks, you can check in at the ticket booth located on George Street – opposite Globe Street. This will be open 2 hours prior to your session time - we advise heading in early to ensure you make the most of your ticketed session. Arrive early, get your tickets, meet your crew and visit some of the venues on The Whisky Trail both pre and post your session time.

You will need to show your ticket and ID before receiving your colour coded wristband, festival map and sample token card. You will then have 2.5 hours to explore all the festival zones, which will commence at the start of the session time. Please be aware that bars will close 15 mins before end of the session to ensure fulfilment of final orders within the session time. Your sample cards include a mix of samples in both the Ticketed Zones + also on The Whisky Trail all clearly marked by brand. Find the corresponding brand on the map, proceed and enjoy.

Please note, Whisk(e)y on The Rocks is both an outdoor (Ticketed zones) and indoor event (Whisky Trail Venues). As limited shelter will be available at the festival outdoor Ticketed Zones, we recommend attendees come prepared for the weather conditions for your session (including umbrellas or raincoats for rainy weather).

Never fear if bad weather strikes during your session, check your map and if needed just pop straight into one of the amazing partner venues and unique experiences on The Whisky Trail and continue the fun. If the rain passes, pop back to the ticketed zone or simply brave the weather, it’s your call. You will have fun either way, it’s up to you to create your own whisky adventure.

The Whisky Trail

Don’t forget to plan your Whisky Trail adventure - a jam-packed experience. All Whisky Trail venues are clearly numbered and detailed on the map. There are no tickets required to enjoy the trail, however ticket holders are encourage to extend their whisky experience by joining The Whisky Trail to sip, savour and explore their way through some of Sydney’s best bars, pubs and restaurants.

Soak up the iconic views, laneways, nooks and crannies of The Rocks and experience the dozens of unique Venue and Brand collaborations and offerings. There will be private tasting events with guest International and local Distillers, master classes with Brand Ambassadors, competitions and an incredible array of whiskies, food and cocktails to discover.

You are free to explore the trail throughout the festival as many times as you like - it will definitely need more than one day or night to discover and experience all that’s on offer!

Masterclasses

For Whisky lovers looking for rare bookable experiences within the Festival, look no further than these amazing add-ons.

Whisky Masterclasses with Miles Munroe
Legendary Westward Whiskey Head Distiller, Miles Munroe, has travelled from Oregon, USA to host a series of Masterclasses at The Doss House and is bringing with him a Limited Edition Westward Whiskey to try. Rumour has it there will also be some bonus drams from Westward, at next door sister bar Frank Mac’s for the first 40 people to check into the ticketing office for each session. There will also be a selection of incredible Westward Whiskies on sale at nearby Hickson House which are definitely worth checking out.

Whisky Sessions at Hickson House
Hickson House Distilling Co are hosting exclusive sessions with Australian Craft Whisky Distilleries - Highwayman, Killara and Corowa. You can also book in a distillery tour to discover all about the whisky making process at this incredible working distillery and bar.

Rare Expressions with Wild Turkey
Join Brand Ambassador of the Year, Tristram Lilburne-Fini where you will be guided through a selection of rare Wild Turkey Bourbon expressions that are hard to find in Australia. The Glenmore Hotel is host to the Wild Turkey ‘Spirit of the Wild’ rooftop take-over and one of the best views in The Rocks. You can get quick access to the Glenmore from Argyle Street, the steps are just before the Argyle Cut, see the map for this sneaky short cut to good times.

Finally, please note the responsible service of alcohol procedures, water and non-alcohol options will be in place in the Ticketed Zones and in all Venues. We do ask everyone to drink responsibly, be kind to all the event and venue staff and have a great time.
