Whiskey Bar Series - Bach at the Bar

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Enter the room through a Narnia-inspired wardrobe and dissolve yourself in an evening of good company and incredible music played just for you by some of the finest musicians in Australia. Bring friends or make new ones, everyone is welcome.
This series is the continuation of the consistently sold out (months in advance) Underground series and there are strictly limited seats so you will need to be quick to get your tickets.

The purity of Bach is perfect for our first Whiskey Bar concert and will feature solo works for both violin and cello, culminating in a genius arrangement of the Bach Double Violin Concerto by American cellist Cicely Parnas.

We welcome the extraordinary violinist Sophie Rowell to Ensemble Q this year and this is your chance to get to know her and hear her incredible playing, up close. Currently the Concertmaster of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Sophie has held positions as leader of the Australian String Quartet and Concertmaster of the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Disability access:
Please note the bar is on level one (upstairs) at Electric Avenue and unfortunately there is no disability access. The stairs do have a good railing and there are plenty of toilet facilities on the same level, so anyone able to climb a normal staircase will not have a problem entering the venue. We apologise to our patrons with disabilities that might prevent your attendance and invite you to attend our QPAC series and "On the Edge" concert on July 13 at Vacant Assembly.
