About Whispers & Conversations:

Whispers & Conversations begins with the idea that nothing in this world happens without conversation. Sometimes this happens with a roar — but, most often, these conversations happen in whispers and internal dialogue. Within these pages, Ralonda Simmons converses with a variety of themes, including her origins, love, the body, writing as a practice, and more. Containing work written over a 24-year period, from the author's early years as a page poet to her present as a spoken word artist and mentor, this book coalesces chaos into a cohesive collection of poetry that gives a peek into Ralonda's relationship with herself and the world around her.

About Ralonda Simmons:

Ralonda Simmons has worked as a guest poet with Art from Ashes and Poetry for Personal Power, as well as taught young writers at Lighthouse Writers Workshop. Venues she has featured at include House of Poetry, Punketry, The South Broadway Ghost Society, Jazzetry, Freedom of Speech and the Denver Center of Performing Arts. As a member of the Lady Wu-Tang, Ralonda has opened shows for hip-hop greats such as Jean Grae, MC Lyte, and members of Wu-Tang Clan.
