The 2026 White Ribbon Breakfast will bring together leaders, organisations and community voices to explore the role we can all play in creating safer, more respectful communities.
Featuring guest speaker Luke Bateman and a cross-sector panel discussion, the event will examine how prevention can be embedded across government, industry, workplaces, media, education, sport and community life.

Luke Bateman
Luke Bateman is a former NRL player, writer and media personality who has built a national profile through his honest reflections on masculinity, mental health, identity, relationships and personal change. Luke has spoken openly about his experiences with depression and gambling addiction, the expectations he encountered within hypermasculine environments, and his evolving understanding of vulnerability, emotional connection and gender equality.
Christina Morrissy
Christina Morrissy is an Australian journalist, broadcaster, television presenter, radio host and sought-after MC, known for bringing warmth, energy and curiosity to every conversation. She is also a single mum of four and brings both professional insight and lived understanding to discussions about family safety, resilience and respectful relationships to the breakfast. Through her work in media, she has seen the power of storytelling to challenge attitudes, start difficult conversations and help shift culture and is passionate about the role every part of society can play in preventing violence against women. She believes lasting change comes from engaging people early, strengthening healthy relationships and creating safer, more connected communities where women, children men and boys can all thrive and she will keep speaking up until that has been achieved!
Catherine Taplin
Catherine is the Head of Talent at Rio Tinto, based in Perth, Australia. With over 25 years of experience at Rio Tinto, most recently in the Vice President of People, Development & Technology, Catherine has held various executive and leadership roles, demonstrating a strong commitment to people development and organizational growth. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Economics and an MBA from the University of Western Australia. Recognized for her effective leadership and results-driven approach, she is also actively involved in diversity and inclusion initiatives within the mining industry. Her expertise spans human resources, talent management, and strategic transformation.
