Event description
White Rock is a compelling new documentary helmed by Damon Gameau (2040, That Sugar Film) that brings together scientists, chefs, fishers, and policymakers to tackle one of the biggest environmental challenges facing our oceans - the explosion of longspined sea urchins devastating Australia’s kelp forests. Shot across stunning locations from NSW to Tasmania, the film unpacks the science, the stakes, and the emerging solutions to this underwater crisis.
Join us for the Bawley Point screening of White Rock as part of our em-urchin-cy tour with expert panel and special guests to explore how this issue is affecting Australia's kelp forests and what we can do about it.

Uncle Wally Stewart, Malinda Wink (Minderoo Pictures), Adriana Vergés (UNSW, Operation Crayweed), Ryan Morria (South Coast Sea Urchins), and Dr. Pia Winberg (PhycoHealth).
Hein Cooper will perform a live music set from his upcoming tour ahead of the film screening, and Luke Bow of Merry St. will have some uni delights for guests to try so bring a picnic run or your camping chairs to set up for an epic evening of live music, film and food!
