    Event description

Join fellow art-full women on Saturday July 16th when we will experience the 2022 Whitney Biennial: Quiet As Its Kept, plus an art talk/picnic at the new Pier 57 Rooftop Park in Hudson River Park* with art critic & professional guide, Merrily Kerr!

The Whitney Biennial has surveyed the landscape of American art, reflecting and shaping the cultural conversation, since 1932. The eightieth edition of the landmark exhibition is titled Quiet as It’s Kept and features an intergenerational and interdisciplinary group of sixty-three artists and collectives whose dynamic works reflect the challenges, complexities, and possibilities of the American experience today.

While this exhibit can sometimes be hard to understand and the work difficult to interpret, we will have the benefit of Merrily Kerr’s expert insights to help guide us through the experience! Merrily will provide an intro to the show over a picnic on the banks of the Hudson River, before our self-guided visit at the Whitney.

All tickets include the art talk & entry to the museum. Full experience tickets also include a choice of pre-ordered picnic items from the Lobster Place. You can also choose to BYOP (bring your own picnic).

Each of our experiences is carefully curated and thoughtfully organized with the intention of encouraging womxn from all walks of life to push their boundaries, discover new perspectives and more deeply understand themselves and the world around them — so they are better equipped to shape it.

What if I don’t know anyone - can I attend alone?

YES! Most people attend events alone and make new friends and acquaintances along the way. All events are designed to make solo attendees feel right at home and able to meet others.

What kind of women are at the events?

We are a diverse community of women from all different walks of life, backgrounds and demographics — united by a shared interest in art & culture and a desire to meet fellow arts-minded women. The majority of attendees are in their late 30’s-early 50’s, working in a wide variety of professional careers. The only requirement is an interest in the arts and meeting new people, as well as an open heart and mind.
