A signature event on Mackay’s calendar, Whitsunday Voices is the largest youth literature festival in North Queensland, attracting over 5000 students from schools in and around the Mackay region. Now in its 17th year, the Festival has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2004. Held annually in July, this friendly Festival hosts an intimate line-up of Australian literary talent to inspire and enhance a love of books, writing and illustrative art among students from Preparatory to Year 12.
