A signature event on Mackay’s calendar, Whitsunday Voices is the largest youth literature festival in North Queensland, attracting over 7000 students from schools in and around the Mackay region. Celebrating our 20th Festival in 2024, Whitsunday Voices has gone from strength to strength since its inception in 2004. Held annually in July, this friendly Festival hosts an intimate line-up of Australian literary talent to inspire and enhance a love of books, writing and illustrative art among students from Preparatory to Year 12.
