Who am I now? studio workshop series
Description
"When others don't need me as much, there's more time for me.....
But who am I now?
What is fun for me now?
How do I honour myself alongside those who I continue to care about but need me less?
How do I live my life without the role/s that once defined me?"
For people in the in-between: when the caregiving role loosens and you come back into focus. Here’s an opportunity to come back to yourself - grounded practices, and supportive connection within the comfort of the Onehunga Community House.
A 4 week series of 2 hour workshops will introduce you to practices designed to help bring you back to you, find your voice again, express what you really want. Learn who you are now after caregiving.
At the end of the workshop series you are likely to:
Be able to discern when you are doing something someone else wants you to, versus what you want
Feel more steady and present, even when things are uncomfortable or uncertain
Trust your body more—not just physically, but as a source of information and direction to help determine your yes and no and what you really want
Have a set of grounded practices you can use in daily life to support you in times of stress, decision-making, or relationship conflicts
You can use both discounts below. Contact chanelfinnigan@gmail.com for code information.

FAQs
- What's the overall premise behind this?
It's about coming back to who you are. When the caregiving role is shed who is the human being underneath?
This is a time to contemplate and practice how we return home to ourselves again and again. The years of caregiving for our children or aging parents often results in less space for us. We might have disconnected and lost sight of who we are and what is important to us. These practices will help you remember who you are.
Over each night of the 4 weeks I will introduce a practice that helps you to shift back to who you are.
- How will each evening flow?
Beginning with a settling in and review of any learnings from the previous week, I'll introduce a new practice, giving information and enhancing understanding. I will invite someone to come forward and demonstrate it. Then there'll be an opportunity in pairs to facilitate a process for each other so you get firsthand experience of it, and finally space for any questions that have come up.
Invitations for 'home play' will be given at the end of each week so you have a focus to continue expanding your learning and experience.
- Will I have to share personal details in front of others?
An intention of openness will fuel your learning and exploration, however it is entirely up to you what you share in front of the group. Whatever level of sharing you choose will be supported. During the exercises in pairs, it's useful to have something a little raw and unprocessed that you’re willing to work on rather than something you’ve already resolved. It could be an issue, item, complaint or opportunity. You decide the degree of intensity of the item. You keep it within your comfort zone.
- Is it therapy?
This is a guided learning experience focused on presence, my favourite practical tools for presence and integration that I use in my coaching practice. If your experience raises items that would benefit from therapy or counselling, I recommend connecting with your GP first.
- What opportunities are there to support my learning and integration afterwards?
There are several opportunities to support your continued learning and integration.
There's a 1/2 day 'Live the life I want' workshop.
We’ll get to know our essence (who we came into be) and have some fun and movement with it. We’ll explore insights to help identify our life purpose, create ease and flow and a love of the life we’re living. We will support this by beginning to create our own manifesto to support living the life we really want.
Other options include joining a circle that meets monthly to support living these practices in your life or you can reach out for 1:1 coaching.
