Freya Daly Sadgrove – the “wildest, most dazzling performance poet in New Zealand”, author of Head Girl (VUP 2020) and ringleader of poetry extravaganza Show Ponies – unleashes her hilarious, unsettling, mesmerising performance style in the Australian premiere of her first full-length show.
Freya is joined by drummer Samuel Austin (Vera Ellen) and guitarist Ingrid Saker (Ingrid and the Ministers) to perform poems from Head Girl along with a suite of new work in a jaw-dropping hybrid of poetry, music and theatre. Whole New Woman lands you in the midst of a fractured psyche assembling itself like a rebel army, and invites you to join the rampage.
Whole New Woman’s début season in NZ Fringe 2023 was nominated for eight Fringe Awards including Best in Fringe and Outstanding Solo Performance, and won the award for Best Words.
