Why Neighbourhoods Matter Webinar
Event description
Join us for a free 1 hour webinar with international expert Seth Kaplan to learn about creating better cities and societies, one neighbourhood at a time. His book Fragile Neighbourhoods is an urgent exploration of why American society is in trouble, and how to fix it, starting with the places we call home.
The issues identified are common in many other countries, including Australia and New Zealand. Some of the key points we'll explore include:
- How neighborhoods have a huge impact on society and individual wellbeing
- Why many of our social challenges sit downstream from neighborhoods
- The concept of social poverty, distinct from income or wealth-based poverty
- We all live in a place and yet we have built a placeless society that fosters isolation and vulnerability
The webinar will concentrate on the practical and systemic solutions and what we can do about it.
