Event description

Join us on International Day of People with Disability for an inclusive community event.

The Vic Park Collective with support from Mission Australia and the Town of Victoria Park are excited to host a free community event on International Day of People with Disability on Thursday the 3rd of December 2020.

We will be screening the 12th Wide Angle Film Festival’s Public Program of Australian and International award winning films at the Victoria Park Carlisle Bowls Club (18 Kent Street East Victoria Park 6101). All films reflect the lived experience of people with disability.

Prior to the film screening we will have some local community members talk to the audience about their experience of disability in their community.  We will also have local Food Truck Toast My Curry available out front should you fancy a bite to eat.

We hope to see you there!

Access Information:

  • The venue is wheelchair accessible and there is ample parking out the front of the building via the entry off Kent Street. Toilets are wheelchair accessible.

  • There will be open captions on all the films. The media files are also flashing light free.
  • We have created a social story about the venue to help people prepare for the event and feel comfortable when they arrive – if you would like a copy please email ellisk@missionaustralia.com.au

  • We will have communication stickers available at the event for those who would like to wear one.  These can help let other people know what level of communication you feel comfortable with on the day
