The Hidden Benefits of Co-working

Join us for our next Wild Fig breakfast as we welcome Mel Archer, founder of The Foundry Cowork, for a practical and insightful session on the often-overlooked benefits of coworking.

In this session, Mel will explore how coworking spaces can support small business owners beyond just a place to work. From improving mental health and reducing isolation, to creating opportunities for organic networking, collaboration and mentoring, she will unpack why more businesses are choosing flexible, community-driven environments over traditional setups.

Mel will also share how coworking can help keep business local, improve visibility through SEO and online presence, and provide access to a wider network of skills, resources and opportunities. With real examples of businesses growing from a single desk to larger operations, this session will highlight how the right environment can play a key role in business growth and sustainability.

With more than 28 years’ experience running her own design and marketing agency, Mel understands the realities of small business firsthand. After relocating to the Central Coast, she recognised the impact that isolation can have on business owners and went on to establish The Foundry Cowork in Erina, creating a space focused on connection, community and wellbeing.

This will be a valuable session for anyone working independently, leading a small team, or looking for new ways to stay connected and grow within the local business community.
