About us

WIRES is a voluntary organisation that rescues and cares for sick, injured and orphaned native animals; with the goal of releasing them back into the wild.

The WIRES Inner West branch covers areas from the Balmain Peninsula and CBD, south to Tempe and west to Belfield. Our branch provides ongoing community wildlife information and education, and they proactively engage in local activities to help protect and preserve wildlife and wildlife habitat.

While we have made some great strides, Our Inner West still has a lot to accomplish, our top priorities are much needed animal refuge upgrades and equipment upgrades. Supporting this event = supporting our native wildlife. 

All money raised goes directly to our Inner West branch.

How to help

2. WIRES Inner West branch could not help the number of animals we do every year (approx 3,000/year) without our incredible volunteers. Every branch is always looking for more rescuers and carers, so please consider joining WIRES as a volunteer!!.
