    Event description

Hosted by ARIA-nominated singer/songwriter Dingo Spender (of Mama Kin Spender) and Meditation Australia president and storyteller, Asher Packman, 'Wild Man: A Story in Song' is a call out for brotherhood.

We live in a time where men are becoming increasingly disconnected from one another, where male suicide statistics remain bleaker than ever. By standing shoulder-to-shoulder and singing from our depths – with both strength and tenderness – we can change the narrative around what it means to be a man. This is a gathering where men can unite and support each other to lean in and make change, starting where we all must – within.

Wild Man seeks to reconnect men through the power of the voice and the breath.

    A Story in Song

In this world, not all the things we experience can be expressed in words.

A song calls to spirit and – when sung with intention – invites spirit to join us. When we sing together, we express our soul and by doing so, we begin to heal the soul of the world, that to which we are all secretly connected. Singing together helps us carry the burdens that we cannot carry alone.

This gathering brings together the power of storytelling and animates it into a transmission of soul. The songs have been heartfully composed by Dingo to bring to life the story carried by Asher. This is a story that lives in our body and can be sent out as a blessing and a prayer through our voices. By adding movement, breath and intention, we shift our physical vessels into living embodiments of this archetypal energy.

Through guided exercises, we will unlock the full potential of our imagination, delving into the realms of myth and melody and forging unshakeable bonds that will remain far beyond the workshop.

Come and reclaim the ancient story that resides within your heart, and learn to express it in the world. Sing yourself free.

“Together, we can tell our stories, sing our wounds, dance our limp, and bring home the parts of us that are hiding in fear of being different or cast out.” – Asher Packman

“Give me a man who can't find the way back to his own heart. Give me a man who says he can't feel. Let him sing with other men and I'll give you back a wild man.” – Dingo Spender
