Wildlflower Guided Walk: Monarto Conservation Park
Event description
It's spring! Join us for a guided walk at Monarto Conservation Park to explore and observe some of the orchids and wildflowers common to the area.
Guided by Senior Project Officer Ben Simon, we will walk along the designated walking trail and stop to chat about the flora and diversity in the park as we go.
We will have some identification sheets available on the day, or feel free to bring your own books/resources if you have any.
Monarto Conservation Park covers approximately 240 acres and is characterised by remnant mallee woodland and dry heathland habitat.
Meet at the carpark/gate on Ferries McDonald Road, approximately 3km south of the freeway as you head towards Chaunceys Line Road. We will have the Second Nature sign out on the day.
Important Information:
- The trail is uneven, and there are some inclines and declines as part of the walk. A moderate level of fitness is recommended
- As we are in a Conservation Park there are no toilet facilities
- Please ensure to BYO sufficient drinking water and wear appropriate clothing and footwear for bushwalking
- Participants under 18 years of age will need to be accompanied by a responsible adult
This project is supported by the Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board through funding from the landscape levies.
