About the Presenter

Alan Shepard is a passionate advocate for sustainable gardening, biodiversity, and community engagement. With decades of experience creating community, school, and organic gardens, Alan brings a hands-on approach to gardening education. His own garden won a Sustainable Gardens Award in 2018, and he has led numerous revegetation projects using indigenous plants across Adelaide. Alan’s workshops are packed with practical advice, creative inspiration, and a deep love for connecting people to nature.

Whether you’re new to wildlife gardening or looking to enhance your efforts, you’ll leave with practical tips and creative ideas to attract and support local species. Check out our second session with Alan on the 28th February, Introduction to Sustainable Gardening!

This workshop is seeded by Green Adelaide and hosted by Mount Barker Community Library.
