Wildlife Photographer of the Year | Quiet Sessions
Event description
Love Nature? Join us for the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition Quiet Sessions!
Gaze through the lens of some of the world's best wildlife photographers and marvel at the beauty of our planet.
The world-renowned exhibition, on tour from the Natural History Museum in London, features exceptional images which capture fascinating animal behaviour, spectacular flora and landscapes, and the breath-taking diversity of the natural world.
In a world-first, the photographs will be displayed amongst a living botanical collection: the lush and leafy rainforest environment of the Bicentennial Conservatory within beautiful Adelaide Botanic Garden.
Using photography's unique emotive power, the images will inspire and astound, leaving you with a deeper understanding of the issues facing nature and the actions we need to take to protect it.
Attracting over two million people annually worldwide, Wildlife Photographer of the Year is renowned not only for its compelling imagery but also for the quality of its interpretation.
Launching in 1965, today the competition receives over 50,000 entries from all over the world, highlighting its enduring appeal.
With a record-breaking number of entries from 95 countries, the judges of the fifty-seventh Wildlife Photographer of the Year have had the toughest job yet.
Every entry was judged anonymously on its creativity, originality, and technical excellence by an international panel of industry experts.
Make a day of it! While you're in your botanic garden, we encourage you take the time to explore its iconic green pathways too - they are always revitalising.
About the Quiet Sessions
These Quiet Sessions are for anyone who would benefit from a quieter exhibition experience with fewer people and reduced sensory stimuli.
View this exhibition in the calm and serene environment of the temperate rainforest housed within the Bicentennial Conservatory at Adelaide Botanic Garden.
The Bicentennial Conservatory is a tranquil place displaying a lush canopy of trees with a lower walkway that winds across the undulating forest floor and an upper walkway which takes visitors into the canopy of trees and palms.
These walkways will take you on a trail that is about 200m in length, and both walkways have full wheelchair access. During your visit you can expect natural lighting, natural soundscapes, no motorised equipment in this area and lowered visitation numbers of up to 40 people.
The Exhibition will be displayed on Dibond prints and signage is plain, black font in 21pt body text and 16.9pt description text on a white background.
The Garden will be open to the public as normal during these times. Please note that there is a flight path over the Garden.
We are grateful for suggestions of how we can continue to improve our experience for people who attend these quiet sessions.
We look forward to welcoming you here soon!
