Wildlife Recovery Area Launch
Join us for the launch of a new wildlife care facility for the Northern Rivers region of New South Wales. Thanks to the generous support of the MacRae family and the Seaton Foundation, the MacRae Recovery Area will extend Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital's capacity to recover and rehabilitate sick, injured and orphaned wildlife for return to the wild. Located on Byron Bay Wildlife Sanctuary land, the wholly owned facility features a new reception area for carers and members of the public with wildlife in their care, brand-new enclosures for birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians and office space for our vet team. The proximity of the Recovery Area to our region's only all species Wildlife Hospital will enable our expert veterinarians to monitor the recovery of patients more closely and collaborate with licensed rehabilitators to maximise their prospects of release and survival in the wild. We'll also unveil a new Wildlife Recovery Vehicle sponsored by SIXT Truck and Car Rental, details of Infrastructure upgrades and visitor experience improvements at the Sanctuary, and outline the mission of our parent organisation Wildlife Recovery Australia.
