Our Beach Wildlings offers just that in a multi-age, choose-your-own-adventure, safe and adventurous learning environment AND:

Registration for Term 4 BEACH Wildlings is now open!
Term 4 is a truly stunning term with the return of warmth
It is now recognised that outdoor learning environments offer increased resilience, focus plus overall long-term health, for all participants, parents included!

WHAT
Join us for an amazing 11 week adventure learning all about nature in an outdoor, all-day learning environment. We will have fun, run with flexibility, and give top-notch facilitation for a hyper-inclusive learning environment that meet the needs of the group. No child will be left out of the experience, no matter how young, old or shy. Multi-age learning environments let children grow into their affinities and learn from older children.

WHO

These nature based sessions welcome all children aged 3 to 10 to join and learn together. Classes will include 2 alternate craft activities for the different skill sets. If your child turns 3 by 31st of December 2022 then they are counted as being 3.

WHERE, WHEN, INVESTMENT
We will run for 5 hours from 10 am till 3 pm each Tuesday at Ricketts Point Marine Sanctuary offering 2 different classes each day & a lunch hour, for $400 per child for 10 weeks. Please see our packages for siblings or families - we've done our best to make it affordable for all.
Siblings under 3 (as of the 31st of December 2022) can join for free. Please note that a small booking fee exists through Humanitix and is donated to children charities.

If you'd like to come only for a Half Day Term, either in the morning or afternoon, we welcome that option also.
Half Day Term is $300
and sibling and family packages also available. You are also very welcome to stay for the lunch hour to extend your experience and enjoy like-minded community.

Casual rates for either a Full Day or Half Day also exist : please check out which option would work best for you on our ticket page! And of course, feel free to hit the >Contact Host< button on this page for any queries.

Please note that by registering for a Full Term, you can come and go whenever you like from 10 am till 3 pm.
We have a special WhatsApp chat group set up so you can find us where ever we are.

Specific 2-hour themed classes will be running each Tuesday from 10 till 12 pm & 1 till 3 pm.
You can choose to stay for the lunch hour also!

WHAT WE WILL DO

Classes, while being child-led, will uncover many different nature-based teachings ranging from learning about all the creatures in the area and how they live and what they do, to engaging our motor skills with movement and colourful crafting, identifying plants and "weeds", and learning about how they help our natural systems. We will make maps, tie knots, hunt bugs, find treasures, and be full of wonder! A strong focus on the First Nation people and their connection to the country is also woven into all teachings. We will also practice wrapping bandages and what to do if people are in need of aid. This is all part of creating an interconnected web of information that makes creative capable children. Older children (age 5 and above) will be encouraged to document their days in a scrapbook.

Our facilitator can provide guidance for homeschooling projects and many of the topic covered will feed into the homeschooling needs that many of you have in the community.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE
There is nothing else like this on offer. It has been created out of a place of passion and knowledge for the need of an all-day drop-in type session for our homeschooling community to have amazing learnings together! Therefore,

  • Parents need to attend with their child(ren) and be 100% responsible for them. We love to build community.
  • We will require you to sign a consent document that you are hiring the facilitator to be with you while we learn in nature.
  • Art materials are all provided.
  • Recommended/optional equipment you can bring could be your own bucket, tongs, binoculars, magnifying glasses.

At this stage, last term was very successful, we encourage you to book in quick as spots may fill up
If there is enough demand to run two days, we'll open up a second day, likely on the Monday.

Please contact us if you have preferred day as we are still figuring out what works best for the community.

GET TO KNOW YOUR FACILITATOR
Our facilitator believes homeschooling is of significant importance and desires to support family's success in their educational journey. Armed with 3 University Degrees, mostly in natural sciences, and lots of practical real world experience, she loves to focus on a networked learning approach, encouraging talents to children bloom. With years of experience working with kids, understanding neurodiversity in action, and an enormous skill and knowledge set, classes are likely to thrill adults as much as children.
