Event description

This is the second time we host Terra Firma from QLD - for the fire feast from land and sea in what was easily one of our funnest events last year.

Our aim with the Long Lunch series is to showcase some of our region's best produce in collaboration with amazing chefs from all around the world. There will be tickets available for both Sat 27th and Sun 28th May.

Long Lunch Tickets include:

- a feast of local produce from the land and sea by Terra Firma team (sample menu below) + bbq side chats with them and Kevin from Smokin' Gaucho's on the perfect asado setup and condiments from Valley local, Angie. We are very pleased to announce all meats will be reared locally by regenerative farmers at Rosewood KV and all vegetables will be grown in the valley by Terrewah Farm.

- delicious wines and beers during the seated meal by our friends at Kangaroo Valley Fine Wines & Craft Ales

- Our musicians playing music inspired by Django Reinhardt & Stephane Grappelli on a Summer's day!

- Floral arrangements by the very talented Wattlewood Florals on display and games to be enjoyed by all the lawn + a chance to tour Wildwood House and walk over 2km of bush walks through the rain forest and by the creek

- A tree planted with every ticket bought

Bush Kids Club Ticket includes:

Wildwood is a place for everyone. We have put a lot of thought into a new experience for our younger guests. We would like to give the kids an immersive experience of their own (while you relax and enjoy your long lunch) and have worked with Drew Longbottom, our mate and co-founder of Gadhungal Murring to design and run a separate adventure for kids (ages 6+).

After our welcome to country and long lunch kick off - the bush kids club gang will be off on their own adventure but not too far away and close enough to visit by parents but away and separate from our reception hall and long lunch.

Exploring some magical spots of Wildwood - they will be taken on an expert, locals bush tucker walk through the the fairy bower and a bend in the creek to a secret clearing where other activities will include preparing for a corroboree and ochre face painting and dances that have been done in the Kangaroo Valley for generations. Their ticket includes a simple fire lunch and a real aussie bush experience. They will be accompanied by a minimum of 2 WWCC accredited adults at all times.

This fire lunch is a feast for the senses, where our guests get to enjoy the sights, smells and flavours of open-fire cooking in lush surrounds of Wildwood’s rainforest and bush escarpment - a truly impressive and immersive culinary experience inspired by Argentinian Asado and outdoor cooking.

We look forward to welcoming you to enjoy and explore our beautiful natural surrounds. Interacting with the team and checking out the impressive open fire pit installation with delicious local produce slowly roasting over the hot coals.

This humble style of dining embraces back to basic cooking techniques, using only fire and the best local ingredients - a style that Charly and the Terra Firma will tell you all about as you take in the tantalising aromas and watch the master at work in our bush kitchen.

Matching condiments will be supplied by Angie’s Food. Angie is a KV local who works with farmers in the valley to create wildly fermented and fascinatingly delicious products.

Kangaroo Valley Fine Wines & Craft Ales will also be showcasing some premium beers and wines as part of the day.

Help yourself to a hearty serve, pick your favourite cuts and dish out your sides, then take a seat and enjoy the remarkable flavours of open-fire cooking in good company.

This one off dining event brings people together, to share a love of food and a unique social style of interactive outdoor dining.
