Will AI Impact a Third of Jobs in New York City
Speakers: Afshin Goodarzi and Aric Krause.
Date: Monday, September 29; 6 pm to 8 pm.
A third of New York City's workforce is employed in professional and technical services, information, finance, administration and education. These jobs are at risk as Artificial Intelligence tools are increasingly used to prepare marketing materials, clean data, code software and draft lesson plans, economist Carl Benedikt Frey noted in a New York Times opinion article last month.
How to boost skills to try and avoid this risk? What skills are least at risk from automation? What new skills will be in demand in the AI age? These and related issues will be discussed by Afshin Goodarzi and Aric Krause.
Afshin, an advisor to Capzone Analytics, is a data scientist; he worked at MX Data, 1010 Data, 2011-2021; Equifax and other data companies. Aric, as Academic Dean, leads the design and development of the Rensselaer at Work graduate programs.
Host: Huron Consulting, 1166 Sixth Avenue at 45 street
