After the presentation, attendees are welcome to purchase a book and/or get their book signed by the author in the Research & Information room on the 2nd floor of the library.
Pre-registation is extremely helpful for planning purposes, but is not required. Pre-registered attendees will get priority seating in the event of limited seating. Walk-ins are welcome if capacity allows.
Description
Join authors Will Bardenwerper, Wayne Stewart, and John W. Miller as they explore the intersection of baseball and American culture. From small town teams to our hometown Pirates, come hear the insights of the sport that shaped the nation (and the manager who helped shaped the sport).
Biography
Will Bardenwerper has contributed to The New York Times, The Washington Post, Harper’s and other outlets and is the author of The Prisoner in His Palace: Saddam Hussein, His American Guards, and What History Leaves Unsaid. He served as an Airborne Ranger–qualified infantry officer in Iraq.
Wayne Stewart has written 40 books, some displayed in the Hall Of Fame, some endorsed by Mike Ditka & Dick Groat. He wrote for magazines, such as Baseball Digest, SABR Research Journal, Hall of Fame newsletter and 11 Major League Baseball publications. He has written for 9 newspapers such as Mon Valley Independent and Altoona Mirror. He hosted a call-in radio show and pre-game programs on Notre Dame and the Cleveland Indians and was on ESPN as a baseball historian.
