Event description

Which Wills candidates will act on the matters that matter most to you? Ahead of voting in the upcoming Federal election, hear the candidates responses to your questions! Every candidate for the seat of Wills has been invited.

Seats are limited so book your seats by RSVPing NOW and submit your questions for the candidates

Candidate forums are a unique can’t-miss experience and one of the best ways to inform your vote.

They’re also one of the most powerful opportunities to show politicians just how much the community cares about particular issues.

Before this election, let’s show up to show the candidates that the people in their electorate demand urgent action to create a safe future by protecting the Australian environment that we all love, slashing power bills through more renewables, and standing up to the climate polluters, saying no to new coal and gas.

This forum will be chaired by the CEO of the ACF (Australian Conservation Foundation), Kelly O'Shanassy, and we will also hear from two guest speakers to help frame some of the big issues: Sarah Hussein from Merri Food Hub, and Dr Ben Dunne from Doctors for the Environment Australia.

Candidates who have confirmed their attendance:

  • Samantha Ratnam (Greens)
  • Sue Bolton (Socialist Alliance)
  • Owen Miller (Fusion Party)

Candidates invited but not yet confirmed (contact them to encourage them to join us!)

  • Peter Khalil (Labor) - the incumbent
  • Jeff Kidney (Liberal)

The evening:

6:00pm - Come along early to enjoy a deforestation-free democracy sausage sizzle (Halal and vegan options available, with some put aside till after sundown). Entertainment will be provided by The Climate Choir.

6:25pm - take your seats ahead of a 6:30pm forum start time.

8:00pm - end.

This is a family friendly event - children and babies are very welcome, but please bring something to occupy them as best you can. A breakout room will be available if you need to take your child there.

This venue is accessible for wheelchairs. If you have other accessibility needs and questions, please reach out to us.
