Low Groves x Zach King x Alexa Jenson
Event description
DOORS at 7:00pm
Due to Hurricane Helene, Will Orchard is unable to perform at this show, but Low Groves is added!
Low Groves
With folksy roots, enveloped by droning soundscapes, Low Groves tiptoes the lines of traditional folk and indie rock while exploring themes of longing and loss.
The project was formed out of necessity. After losing his last living grandparent and being laid off from his day job with the Chicago White Sox in 2020, he retreated to his vacant grandparents’ house in Chicago to gather belongings and determine his next move. He emerged with the 10 songs that would comprise his debut album: Drifter.
After a break from music, he arrived in Charlotte, NC where he would play these songs around the local music scene and form a live band full of talented local musicians.
2023 was a busy year for him as he's opened for Adam Melchor during his Here Goes Nothing! Tour, performed at Charlotte SHOUT! Festival, and released his first EP ("Lay the Line") since his debut album.

Zach King
With a sound truly unique to his own vision, Zach King, born and raised in Concord North Carolina, set out to make music with one intention in mind: To seek out answers for the quiet questions in life and answer them as honestly as he could. Through intimate lyrics and thoughtful expression, He combines the familiar with the unknown, intertwining them into his well-known indie-folk-like style to explore what it means to grow and change as an individual. Drawing much inspiration from his love of nature, he sets out to deliver a well-thought-out culmination of sounds, lyricism, and melodies that leave the listener with a quiet sense of intimacy, wonder, and silent understanding.
*********
From an early age, Alexa Jenson was picking out songs on her acoustic guitar in her bedroom. Starting out in open mics, she carved out a space for herself in the Charlotte arts scene. Now, after selling out the clubs she came up in, she’s ready to take on the world.
Armed with a heart full of basement pop sensibility, Alexa brings a unique voice to the indie scene; something that feels wholly influenced by the pitfalls of growing up in an increasingly unforgiving world, but with a fiery spirit that won’t quit. From quieter songs like “Fool in Love” that dissect the discomforts of admiration from afar, to the charged up songs like “Daylight” that exemplify feminine rage.
This modern world is here to stay, and we should all be thankful that Alexa Jenson is here to say what we’re all thinking.
