Willow Harvest 3 : Resiliency in Action!
Event description
Join us for Willow Harvest no. 3: Resiliency in Action! as we gather at Family Harvest Farm, in Pittsburg, CA, to harvest willow branches that will be used to rebuild the Acorn Granary at San Lorenzo Library.
Earlier this month, the original granary was unexpectedly removed by Alameda County General Services Agency. In Indigenous traditions, granaries were never permanent. They often had to be rebuilt, and this process of renewal is part of our cultural practice of resilience.
This harvest is not just about gathering materials. It is an opportunity to come together as a community, reconnect with the land, and continue a tradition of building with our own hands. Whether you helped create the first San Lorenzo Granary or are joining us for the first time, your participation helps carry forward this work of cultural preservation and food sovereignty.
