Willow Obelisk Weaving Workshop
Description
Willow Obelisk Weaving Workshop
Saturday 10th & Sunday 11th October 9am - 12.30pm
Arrowtown School Hall
In this workshop, you'll learn how to create your very own beautiful Willow Obelisk Plant Support.
This charming structure will serve both a functional and decorative purpose in your garden, made from homegrown willow to support your climbing plants in style. You will be guided through the process of building the upright frame and weaving a spiral 3-rod ‘wale’ that not only enhances strength but also adds aesthetic appeal. Tutor Tamar Guse will be there to support you every step of the way, whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience with willow weaving.
Willow weaving is a wonderful and meditative craft that allows you to connect with nature and tradition. Please note that this workshop will involve some standing, moving around, and a bit of hand strength.
Please bring secateurs, an apron, a low stool (if you have trouble kneeling) and a vehicle large enough to transport your obelisk home.
The workshop lasts 3.5 hours and is limited to 8 students.
