WILPF Australia Triennial Conference 2024

Greetings! This is where you register to attend the WILPF Australia Triennial Conference. 

For those new to WILPF, our WILPF Australia Triennial Conference is the highest decision-making body of the WILPF Australia Section. The Triennial Conference meets every three years to review the past three years' achievement, and to plan the next triennial program.  

Our 2024 Triennial Conference will enable all members to attend with ease, wherever you are: 

• Attend In person at the Red Cross Training Rooms, 4/49 Park Road Milton, Brisbane, Qld (we hope this will be many of you); OR
• Attend online via Zoom for members across the country who are unable to be there in person.
  

The Triennial times are: 

• Saturday 18 May: 8am for an 8.45am start until 5pm (includes morning public event with WILPF Welcome and guest speakers; afternoon member-only sharing, workshops, plenary, resolutions, and meet the nominees);
• Plus a Conference dinner for those in Brisbane(at own expense) is planned for Saturday evening at nearby China Sea Milton Restaurant.

• Sunday 19 May: 8.30am for an 8.45am start until 3pm completion of the Triennial for all members (includes Annual Section Report and member discussion, working group highlights, strategic planning priorities and goals, Section Sustainability member discussion, and commitments - concluding with the Annual General Meeting.  
• Sunday 3pm - 5pm: Newly-elected Board Induction. 

PLEASE REGISTER ASAP, and by no later than 21 April to ensure a seat for the Saturday morning public session. 

• Venue seating is limited for the public Saturday morning session which will be popular with the wider peace movement and public. Plus we need to know numbers for both catering and on-line connections.

** Both days include morning and afternoon teas and a light lunch (all with vegetarian and gluten free options) 

** We hope to see many of you in person and many others online for this wonderful connecting, planning and action-focused meeting - our very first in-person in six years!! This is absolutely bound to energise and inspire!**

 ** The Triennial program, other documents for triennial, and zoom link will be emailed in the next few weeks prior to the Triennial.**

TRAVEL CONSIDERATIONS

Please note: the weekend of 17-19 May is a major football weekend at nearby Suncorp Stadium.
While the WILPF Triennial Conference is designed to start and finish during quiet times, it is important to note that street parking is prohibited and there are no parking stations close by.

Your travel options for arriving and leaving PeaceWomen Awards are:

• • Public transport: bus, train and CityCat are all an easy walk a few minutes away.
• • Cab, Uber etc, or private car drop-off: cars may drop passengers at the Park Road entrance.
• • Walk: eg the scenic river walk and bikeway from and to the city.
