Water on Water - a sunset cruise to save lives
Event description
Local Tasmanian charity, Water for a Village has, in 6 years, provided fresh clean water sources to over 40,000 people in Ethiopia as well as harnessing the passion and generosity of all levels of the Australian community.
Water for a Village is accredited to the highest levels of governance with equally strong ethics and values and is holding an annual fundraiser for next season's projects. All donations are tax-deductible and all funds raised go to villages in Ethiopia, where $5,000 will provide a fresh, clean water source for over 300 people. Due to the ongoing support of our partners for adminsitration costs, 100% of event proceeds go directly to projects in Ethiopia.
This build season Water for a Village supported and empowered villages to build 8 new tankers, 17 new hand-dug wells and 2 large installations that collect water from multiple sources, plus renovating 15 existing sites. This has real and direct impacts on the health and well-being of families, as well as positive education outcomes for women and girls. Access to clean water is hugely important to our daily lives, and it’s down to all of us to protect our water environments and resources, and use water wisely.
