Webinar 3: Leadership & Influence
This session will provide guidance to integrated water management (IWM) practitioners (leaders) on strategies and tools to influence key decision-makers to advance integrated water management, especially in the context where IWM practitioners/leaders need to influence with little formal authority (e.g. 'influence up' or across in their organisations).
This session will involve presentations followed by Q&A.
After attending the session, attendees will:
Learn the key concepts and strategies for influencing with little authority
Learn about several practical tools and frameworks
Learn how to apply these strategies through real examples provided to illustrate the practical application of tips and tools.
Have access to additional resources for further learning.

Andre Taylor (International Water Centre, Griffith University)
Dr André Taylor is a leadership development specialist and coach who designs, delivers and evaluates customised courses and programs for emerging and executive leaders. He primarily works with leaders from the water sector, sustainability leaders and executive business leaders.
André’s PhD research at Monash University focused on understanding how emergent leaders, or champions, were effective at driving positive change to advance integrated water management in Australia.
André currently works as the Leadership Specialist and Adjunct Associate Professor at the International WaterCentre (part of Griffith University) and directs his own consulting business. Part of his role at the IWC is facilitating the award-winning IWC Water Leadership Program each year which has now helped over 380 emerging water leaders to strengthen their capacity to exert influence and drive positive change – including many in Victoria.
