Winter Appeal 2024

Event description

Today is the rainy day!

Winter is tough. Families and individuals alike often struggle to keep up with the needs of their households, especially with the cost-of-living crunch we're continuing to experience. Between housing, food, medical, schooling, utilities, and fuel, the needs are deeper than ever.

As we launch our Annual Winter Appeal to help continue the work we do, we have mixed feelings. Excitement at the prospect of raising much needed funds, and sadness that it’s still needed in our community.

For over 40 years MCSC has been providing vital community support to those in need. Our motto 'Community Supporting Community' is at the heart of what we do - and we deliver on this through our emergency relief and fresh food programs, financial support, no-interest loans, connection to other agencies and our crisis accommodation at The Ranch, which has assisted over 160 people experiencing homelessness over the past three years. We also run the Beach End Op Shop as part of our fundraising efforts.

With a small team of staff and over 180 dedicated volunteers, we serve Mount Eliza, Mornington, Mount Martha, and Moorooduc…...your Neighbours!

In addition to our Appeal we are hosting a fundraising event to contribute to our target of $75,000 and to celebrate our achievements.
