Winter Concerts

A practical performance step before exam day

These supportive concerts give AMEB and HSC students the chance to perform part of their exam program in a low-pressure, familiar setting. Playing in front of peers helps students practise focus, manage nerves, and understand what performing feels like before sitting their exams.

The concerts are structured but relaxed, allowing students to experience a real performance environment without assessment. It’s an effective way to test repertoire, build confidence, and gain valuable stage experience alongside other students preparing for the same goals.

Each participant is entitled to a complimentary 30-minute rehearsal with a Conservatorium accompanist, offering time to adjust tempos, refine ensemble work, and feel prepared on the day. Held in the comfortable Chapel Theatre, these concerts offer a well-paced afternoon of music for students and a clear, confidence-building lead-in to upcoming exams.
