Event description

The Winter Cook-Up Series is all about intergenerational learning! Calling all parents, caregivers, grandparents, uncles, aunties and family friends to bring the young people in your lives along to share stories and learn new skills in cooking cuisines from around the world. This workshop is appropriate for people 10 years and older. People under the age of 14 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian at all times.

Through a theatrical performance, learn how to prepare and cook a popular Colombian cuisine, the Arepa.

Arepa is a type of gluten-free “pancake”, served alone or with a filling (of cheese/meats/vegetarian).

Cooking as a family, my mother, daughter and I will teach you about the Arepa, —The three generations— sharing the message of healthy food. This Latin-led cooking class will be easy, playful, musical and fun - Milena

Your culinary guide, Milena Suarez, is an actress, dancer, and businesswoman. She blends her passions to create memorable experiences for all. With a love for drama and a lively spirit, she invites you to explore Colombian cuisine.

In her workshop, Milena shares traditions passed down through generations. Cooking arepas is more than a skill—it's a celebration of culture and history. She'll guide you through each step, making the cooking journey enjoyable and tasty.

This isn't just a cooking class; it's a lively event where the kitchen is the stage. Milena's energy turns cooking into an exciting experience. As she shares stories of her Colombian roots with the sound of the skillet, you'll be immersed in the flavors and tales.

Join Milena Suárez in exploring Colombian food. Whether you're an experienced cook or a beginner, this workshop will leave you inspired and wanting more. Let's cook, connect, and celebrate Colombian cuisine together!

This workshop culminates in a shared meal from 1pm – 1.30pm
