Event description

Find flow with the seasons

This day is an invitation to pause. To take time out of the to-do list & explore rest through practices that support & nourish our bodies.

Rest is layered + our reason for rest can vary on how we are at that moment.

Winter Solstice Deep Rest Retreat is a day of yin and stillness.

Throughout the day you will gather with a group of people and be guided through a variety of practices from yoga, meditation, self massage, live music, sound healing, qi gong, Bhakti and yoga nidra, all tailored to bring harmony into the systems of your being and invite rest.

Immerse yourself for one day in the urban sanctuary, The Light Practice Richmond to rest & retreat.

A catered lunch from the very yummy Tahina will be provided along with light snacks.

"Perfect combination of all of the amazing components of rest and restore... still on a high today, feel incredble" (2021 participant)

"Priviledge to be a part - the connection you three had was illuminating! AND as a participant to be able to have full immersion in rest, had me feeling so cleansed and reset this morning" (2021 participant)

We acknowledge this retreat is held on the land of the Wurrundjeri people of the Kulin nation and acknowledge they are the traditional custodians. We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders past, present and emerging.

About your hosts…

Phoebe Dubar (IKSRE- I keep Seeing Rainbows Everywhere) is a Naarm/Melbourne based multi instrumentalist, vocalist, producer and sound healer (Dip. sound healing Academy, Cornwall). Phoebe combines field recording from across the vast, Australian landscape with the lush strings, swirling synth and vocals with ambient drone and binaural beats to create a unique sound which sits somewhere between the yoga studio and the after party. She also facilitates group and private sound bath using a combination of himalayan and Crystal singing bowls, gongs, hand pan, drum, chimes, monochord and voice, including overtone singing.

Rayne Watkin is a tantrika. This means when she guides she fuses Asana  (body movement), pranayama (breath), mudra (gesture or Pose), mantra (chanting) and meditation in her classes.   She teaches hatha inspired vinyasa, yin yoga and leads kirtan and her much treasured practice of yoga nidra.  She is an osteopath, a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a friend.  She cannot wait to meet you and empower you with tools to rest and restore.

Lori Curran, The Humble Nook, is a body-based practitioner (Dip Remedial Massage Therapy and Accredited Yoga and meditation Teacher). She marries her love of functional movement with her deep desire to rest and nurture the self. She creates practices that nourish both the physical and subtle body to feel less overwhelmed, more self aware and connected.
