Event description

Treat yourself to this wonderfully sensory experience, to balance the mind, body and soul. A two one hour blissful, deep relaxation event.

This is the ultimate opportunity to unplug from the outside world, time to stop, time to rest and time to reset.

We'll start with a beautifully restful  'Yoga Nidra', a restorative  guided meditation to still the body and quiet the mind, easing us into the 'Soundbath' experience.

As the name suggests, a Soundbath is an immersion in beautiful sounds and vibrations, created using a wide range of instruments such as drums, gongs, singing bowls, various percussion instruments, chimes, and overtone singing. The vibrations created during a soundbath are considered to be beneficial and healing for the body, mind and soul, leading you to a deeply relaxing, meditative state.

In our culture we are becoming more and more aware of the need to manage stress for both emotional and physical wellbeing. A recent study found that singing bowl meditations significantly reduce stress, depression, anxiety and fatigue. All of those things are known to negatively impact our health, presenting in different ways, such as disturbed sleep, digestive issues, chronic illnesses, memory loss, to name but a few.

A soundbath experience can provide many benefits to counteract the stresses of everyday life, but ultimately it is an incredibly enjoyable experience, accessible to everyone.

We will follow our Soundbath experience with a delicious, chai tea. Made with a traditional recipe passed to me from my teacher and to her from her teacher before that.

Chai has a long history as a beloved beverage.

Indian lore suggests that chai originated in a royal court thousands of years ago. Accounts of this court's location vary from India to Thailand. Regardless of its original location, chai has always been extremely versatile, with preferred spices and preparation methods varying dramatically from one region to the next. But all agree it has many benefits.

Lower blood pressure. The cinnamon in chai tea may prevent hypertension especially in people with diabetes. Research also indicates that people who drink several cups of black tea every day lower their blood pressure by several points.

Better brain power. The black tea and spices found in chai can provide significant benefits to both short-term and long-term cognitive function. Research reveals that the mere smell of cinnamon can improve both attention and memory. Black tea contains caffeine and the amino acid L-theanine, both of which are linked to improved focus.

Lower blood sugar. Black tea helps to regulate glucose levels and may prevent sudden spikes in blood sugar. It is especially valuable for controlling glucose levels after drinking sugary beverages.
