Winter/Spring Seasonal Kandanga Farm Tour with picnic lunch

On the back of Agvention - Australia's Regenerative Farming Field Day on the 1st September - this farm tour is an opportunity to see regen farming principles applied.
Our Farm Tours are not 'pat the animals and get to know their names' type events; they are deep dives into our regenerative farming journey - the ups, downs and sideways. This 2 hour immersive tour is about getting to know where your food comes from, how it is grown and why that is important for the environment and for you.
It is suitable for anyone with a genuine interest in food and food production.
The tour will start with you picking some ingredients from the Farm Store garden that will later be part of your picnic lunch. After a look at the Syntropic garden at the store plus an overview of the farming operation, you'll walk onto Kandanga Farm with owners Tim and Amber and hear about certified organic cattle production, managing livestock year round on pasture (no grain feeding), animal selection, husbandry and movements, you'll talk about weeds, holistic management and landscape function; drought and flood mitigation; farm planning, biodiversity and community impact.
A picnic in the paddock concludes the tour where you can relax and enjoy produce from our farm and other local, organic farms.
Cost is $50/pp including lunch; School age children $20pp.Plus Humanitix booking fee. Please note very young children are welcome however it may not be comfortable for them as there is a lot of walking and long periods of standing still and talking! Good mobility is essential and there is uneven ground and at times steepish inclines.
You'll need to wear good walking shoes, a hat and long pants are a good idea. Bring a water bottle and if you are not comfortable sitting on the ground for the picnic please bring your own picnic chair which we will transport to the lunch site for you.
