Event description

Welcome to Fire & Ice 2023!

Soaring in the South is excited to host the Winter Acro Training Camp where vigorous Acro training and relaxing recovery practices meet this June/July in Goolwa, South Australia!

Acro Yoga, handstand, movement and community fun will be happening right next to the Mighty Murray River! This event will run over the June 30th to July 2nd weekend. It’s 3 nights of camping with the option of coming for one night on the Friday.

Please see below for some further information about the structure and schedule of the weekend and the camping space and facilities. We are looking forward to the next levelling up Acro & Awesome in our community. If you have any further questions, please reach out to Raven Grace via email: soaringinthesouth@gmail.com

Campsite Address: ‘Goolwa Guide and Scout Hall’, Daniel Street, Goolwa North, South Australia. Please enter through the main gates and park in the carpark near to the main building. You will then be shown the space and facilities and choose where you would like to set up your camp.

Camping sites: There is space to park a van or caravan at the Scout Hall if this is your camping set up. There is also lots of grassy, flat areas to pitch your tent on as well as some flat areas under some trees. Our campsite is right by the waters edge with a large grass space by the river front.

Kitchen and Food: There is a small kitchen with fridge, cooktop and oven for your use at the Goolwa Scout Hall, as well as access to a BBQ. Breakfast & Lunch will be up to you as an individual to bring what you need and organise your meal. Each evening there will be a ‘dinner cuisine theme’, so that each person can bring a plate of food to contribute within this ‘theme’ for a shared community meal. You will also have access to drinking water at the campsite.

Utilities: We have access to power at the Goolwa Scout Hall so you will be able to charge your phone or other devices as needed. There are warm showers and toilets inside the hall. Please respect these spaces and keep them clean and tidy.

Drugs and Alcohol: Just a small note to explicitly mention that we have a no drugs policy during this workshop. The Scout Hall also has a no alcohol policy for anyone staying on site, which we will be adhering to during this event.

Camp Contribution: There are many things to know to ensure that our campsite community flows well, has a beautiful rhythm and functions so that everyone feels happy, safe, valued and respected. Part of contributing to the community feel, is by contributing to small duty tasks. Things like dishes, wiping down tables, making the communal spaces clean and inviting, emptying the bins etc, are going to be vital to the successful vibe of our community. We look forward to the fun, laughs and connections that will come during these shared duties!
