Backcountry winter adventures! How to travel safely this winter!
Join Gideon Geerling at Further Faster, for a night all about winter adventures and getting some tips on how to upskill for safety & survival in the back country.
Gideon works full-time as a Practical Risk Management Trainer in Search and Rescue, Alpine, Bush, and Cold Weather survival skills. Gideon will bring some of his 20+ years of experience to the evening that hopefully will front-load or reinforce your trips and aspirations in the backcountry. Bring your questions, as he will be sure to be able to answer them!
Spend an evening discussing systems, tips, and tricks to increase efficiency and adaptability to your alpine and winter adventures. We will cover alpine-specific trekking gear, navigation, weather tips, and personal management in cold environments.
Proceeds from this event will go to local LandSAR teams.
When: Wednesday 10th May, 6.15 pm for a 6:30 pm start.
Where: Further Faster, 57A Buchan St, Sydenham, Christchurch.
Tickets: $18 with all ticket sales being donated to LandSAR.
